Lou Joseph, Mr. Ontario 2005 |
Windsor, Ontario -- My name is Lou and
my hobby is bodybuilding. Ever since I was a child, I have been
fascinated with how men and women develop their bodies into a work
of art, like Greek sculptures. Late in my teens, I decided to become
serious about bodybuilding and see how I could develop my physique.
I entered my first bodybuilding competition at 18 and have competed
ever since.
At age 24, I injured my back and required surgery. My recovery took
a long time. I became plagued with self-doubt and mild depression
believing I would never compete again and live life again like I
used to. The specialists and doctors frowned upon me ever
participating in competitive bodybuilding again or any other
physical activity for that matter. |
Months later,
I started training for another bodybuilding show but with extreme
limitations with exercises and weights. I had this goal that I wanted to
compete and qualify at the national level. I was timid in the gym due to
my back injury and that made it difficult to put my full effort forward.
The next few shows I competed in, I didn’t come in good shape. The
Canadian Nationals was a terrible experience for me. I came in my worst
shape ever despite the hard effort I put in the gym and my diet. It seemed
as some would say, that I had bad luck. Soon though, I came to realize
with the ‘Getting Fit Right Now’ program, that there is only ‘bad luck
thinking’. Bad luck thinking is the continual flow of negative thoughts in
your mind that turn any experience into a bad one attracting more negative
situations. I was in that frame of mind when I started training for that
show. That frame of mind attracted the wrong people and situations leading
to that show.
When I was onstage, I felt like I wanted to walk right off. I was
embarrassed and ashamed. After coming home, I felt like I just wanted to
quit competing and believed that I could never achieve enough to be
successful and win a bodybuilding competition. After that experience, I
just stuffed my face with all the junk food I could find. In a way, it
temporarily made me feel good but temporary fixes were not what I needed.
After a few months, I decided to do it again. I didn’t know where to start
and my belief system was the worst it could be. I felt I couldn’t train
100% percent because of my back and I couldn’t get lean enough no matter
how hard I dieted.
Down the street from the gym I trained at was a building with a sign:
“Body and Mind”. I decided that I should give the free consultation a try
and see what this was all about. I met Rick Saruna and in that one session
he had me convinced that I could change my beliefs and achieve the goals
that I desired.
In only 5 short weeks with the “Getting Fit Right Now” program, I had made
a total transformation mentally. I realized that in order to make any
changes on the outside, I needed to make changes on the inside first.
Rick asked me about my back. “Is it really interfering with your
workouts?” I responded, “Well it hasn’t been lately.” That was all I
needed to know. That was the first step in changing the belief that my
back, nor anything else, could stop me from achieving my goals.
Almost immediately, I started making things work such as choosing the
right bodybuilding coach, having more intense workouts and developing the
ability to stick to my diet program with ease. My focus, dedication and
discipline were magnified 10 fold.
In only 4 months, I was
easily able to lose 50 lbs. People that knew me could see the
change in me physically but more importantly they could see my changes
mentally. I had, and still have, the mind of a champion. I had the “good
luck” mentality and things started coming to me when I wasn’t even trying
to make them happen. I was contacted by a well established supplement
company for a sponsorship and had several photo shoots, one which appeared
in a well known publication. Rick helped me turn my mind 'into a magnet'
to attract the things I wanted as opposed to the things I didn’t. It was
uncanny how my journey began to unfold.
As I trained for the prestigious Mr. Ontario Championships, everything was
perfectly executed: my workouts, meal plans, and training with my
bodybuilding coach. After only a few times listening to the audio CD that
was created specifically for me, my new beliefs were becoming embedded in
my subconscious. I felt I didn’t have to try to control my thoughts
because it felt like I was on auto pilot.
The day of the show was an extremely great experience for me. I had people
there that supported me and I had done all that I could have possibly done
to that point. As I came onstage, people knew I was the one winning that
show. They saw it in my body, in my eyes and through my aura and
presentation onstage. After prejudging was done, the chanting of “Lou” was
heard. It gave me a vitalizing feeling. “Yes, I’ve done it.” I was in the
best possible shape of my life at that moment in time. When the night was
over I was the overall Ontario Champion. I was Mr. Ontario”!
There is no better feeling on earth than working hard and achieving your
goals! If the “Getting Fit Right Now” program can help achieve the goals
of an extreme athlete like myself, just imagine what it can do for the
average person who simply wants to get into shape. Thank you Rick!
I
wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to make this
positive change in their life.
